Related Training
Related Training (RT) is the required classroom experience that is obtained throughout your apprenticeship in order to learn about about areas of the electrical trade that may not always be discussed on the job. The Area III Inside Electrician program is a 4 year program given optimal conditions. The classes are held in the evenings two nights a week for three terms a year at Lane Community College.
Pre-Apprenticeship :
This page will show you the minimum requirements and what is recommended to increase you chances of being accepted into the apprenticeship program. There are many classes you can take at LCC to increase your chances of getting into the apprenticeship program during open enrollment.
1st – 4th Year Classes:
These classes are designed to help guide you through the work experience by combining theory and allowing you a place to ask questions about the work that is being done outside of class. These classes are required upon entry into the apprenticeship program. This page will show the teachers, class location, syllabus and discuss what you will learn in each class. Also be sure to watch for updates on the classes for each term.
Exam:
Once you have completed all your RT and OJT for the apprenticeship program and given committee approval you will become eligible to test to become a Journeyman Inside Electrician. This page shows the requirements to become eligible and what to do in order to take the test.
Tuition:
Tuition is an average of the price for books, class, and all other needed materials and services for 4 years of schooling. Each Term you must pay required tuition in order to continue advancement in this Apprenticeship Program. The classes are taken at LCC and you must be enrolled at the college to attend however tuition is paid to Mid Oregon IEC. Ask Randy about other payment options if you can’t make the tuition payment in full.
